Meet Wendy, Principal Consultant
Wendy brings more than two decades of nonprofit executive leadership, fundraising, and consulting experience, grounded in an additional 16 years in social services as a social worker. Her work is rooted in connection - linking people, strategy, and systems to help nonprofit organizations strengthen their capacity and elevate their impact. She has supported organizations of all sizes across Canada and the United States, meeting them where they are and helping them move forward with clarity and purpose.
Her career spans social services, animal welfare, and higher education, shaping a strong commitment to a One Welfare approach that recognizes the interconnectedness of human, community, animal, and environmental well-being. This systems-based perspective informs Wendy’s consulting practice and fuels a deep commitment to organizations working within complex, resource-constrained environments.
Wendy brings particular depth in grant funding strategy - connecting organizational goals with sustainable funding - from community foundations to multi-million-dollar federal and state grants, alongside extensive experience in strategic planning, board development, and fundraising leadership. Her work helps organizations strengthen governance, clarify priorities, and communicate their impact with confidence. She has served in professional leadership roles, including President of the Southern California Chapter of the Grant Professionals Association, and has been an engaged member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
Her consulting work spans the full spectrum of nonprofit leadership, including board development, financial management, human resources, and diversity, equity, and inclusion policy development. Having served - and continuing to serve - as both a board member and donor, Wendy offers a grounded, practical perspective informed by experience on all sides of nonprofit governance and decision-making.
At the heart of Wendy’s work is a commitment to accessibility and partnership. She is dedicated to supporting nonprofits at every stage - particularly those doing essential work without easy access to professional support - and is developing practical, affordable resources designed to meet organizations where they are. In the spirit of giving back, she also offers a limited amount of pro bono support each year to help organizations gain momentum and move toward greater sustainability and impact.
Based on Canada’s West Coast, Wendy remains deeply connected to the nonprofit sector in her primary work as well as a community volunteer - while drawing inspiration from gardening, photography, and the natural world.
